Review: DiCaPac Waterproof Camera Case

It’s in the bag: As I’ve previously said, I always carry a point and shoot camera with me.  With summer upon us we seem to be doing a lot of trips to the pool, splash pad and the beach which reminded me of last summer when I first started thinking about a waterproof camera or case.  I looked at a lot of hard cases that cost almost as much as the camera itself I settled on this inexpensive little bag.

The DiCaPac (A) is what fit my Panasonic DMC-ZS7 camera and I was pretty skeptical when I first got it.  Basically it is a heavyweight plastic bag that closes like a zip-lock and then rolls up with a Velcro closure that has a port for your lens with a glass cover.  It also has a strap that lets you wear it around your neck or can be attached to something for safe keeping.

After more than a year of use it has not once leaked, it keeps sand out too and has given us some great pictures, all for $24.  You can’t ask for much more than that.
