After a long time sitting in the driveway I finally took our 1964 Chevy short bed, step side truck into the shop to get a little love. I’ve owned this truck for almost 15 years now, and for many years it was my only vehicle, but as late it has been getting a little neglected. When we got it back from Village Garage and Custom it was running really well, like the old days.
After taking a scrubbing brush to it to remove all of the tree same and dirt that had built up it was looking pretty good.
A few new stickers (Village Garage and Custom, Clermont Lounge and Carver Iron) keeps the job box looking fresh!
After my wife and had a discussion about how great the truck was running, and that I had put a new muffler on it so that it no longer smelled like exhaust in the cab, she agreed that it was time for the boy to go for his first ride in it.
Instantly he loved it! Not only could he see out the front window as we drove down the road, but he could also watch me move all the levers and pedals to make it go (both seemed to equally fascinate him).
In fact about 30 minutes after we got home he put his jacket and sun glasses back on and pulled me and my wife outside and pointed at the truck (to let us know he was ready to go for another ride).
