Noticed this on HuffPost:
I am totally signing up for these “Gay voices alerts”.
I hope it’s a ring tone that lets me know when I’m wearing a bad outfit, where the cool new restaurants and bars are, who’s being a bitch.. stuff like that.

This plastic “basket” full on Bud Light Lime-A-Rite and chocolate squares has to be the worst Father’s Day gift of all time..
I’ll even take a tie first please.

..with the FORCE!!

I was really excited when I watched the videos on the X1 and switched from my “double play” to the “Triple Play” just to get the X1 despite the fact that we will not use the phone service.
1st until was installed 6/7/13 and “was not reset before install”, thus it was assigned to someone else’s account. This meant that I could not control it from my iPad or use the apps.
2nd unit was installed on 6/11/13 (4 days later) and was really buggy on install. after 2 hours of the installer working on it, it was finally set up, but in the first 10 minutes it crashed twice. I called customer service and they said “it wasn’t reset to factory defaults” and “did not have an IP address”. They did that remotely, however in the next 24 hours is locked up 5 times (the remote would turn the unit on/off but would control no other functions).
3rd unit was installed 6/13/13 (yes, that three X1 units in 6 days) and it worked for about 90 minutes before freezing up too. Calling customer service they said that they can see nothing wrong with the line, X1 or signal strength.. so, I guess that means that all of these X1s are just total pieces of junk and that the installers are not properly trained on how to install them??
Ironically, news comes out that the X2 is coming out later this year? I guess this is the price that early adopters pay? I will be calling corporate and giving them a piece of my mind since I’ve had to spend about 6-7 hours on the phone this week as well as having to take three 1/2 days off work.
..and as I’m typing this the X1 is locking up and sputtering on the music channel.
What a TOTAL PIECE OF SHIT!!

I found this picture the other day on one of the jackass sites I look at and it really amused me, so as usual I posted it on my Facebook page. I often post kid/SAHD-centric stuff on my page and it’s not uncommon to get 30-40 “likes” from my fellow SAHD/parents. However, this post got 1 like, from a non-parent, which makes me think I hit a nerve. Perhaps I’m the only one of my friends that does no plop an iPad in my kids lap and turn on Netflix to keep them occupied?
In fact one of my friends told me, in a proud way, that his 2 year old knows how to turn on the iPad and launch different programming on Netflix. This horrified me! And it’s not that I’m one of those anti-TV people, but I really think screen time should be a pretty special event, like watching football with Dad-O on Sunday. Beside, my son was way more fun playing with toys, drawing or running in the yard than sitting passively in front of a screen.
